The Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School – BHEL, Golden Jubilee extravaganza came to a closure with a lot of zest and fervour on Saturday, the 14th July 2018. The splendid ceremony was blessed with the presence of the Archbishop of Bhopal - Rev. Dr. Leo Cornelio, as the Chief Guest of the occasion. Also gracing the evening were the guests of Honour Mr. M. Isadore – General Mgr HRD, BHEL and Dr. Sr. Noel – Provincial Superior CMC.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the invited guests and dignitaries, followed by a prayer dance invoking God’s blessings and a warm welcome by a melodious school choir.
The gathering was welcomed by Sr. Anupa – Principal of Carmel.
As a tribute to the glorious past of the Institution the creative and passionate students staged stupendous performances showcasing their abundant talents in the form of music, dance and drama. The programmes were a creative knit of art and flair reliving the magnificent journey of the School’s 50 years of legacy.
The current students of Carmel, brought to life by their performances and nuanced theatrics the origin of Carmel and the fruition of the efforts put in by all the Sisters of CMC, teachers and staff throughout these years, into the shaping and moulding of the then seedlings into deep rooted and fruit laden trees.
The Chief Guest – Rev. Dr. Leo Cornelio, congratulated the
entire Carmel family on their accomplishments, encompassing the past and the
present generations. He mentioned that it was a rare spirit to see the students
live up to their school motto – “Let your light shine” and acknowledged that
they were truly “Enlightened to Excel.”
It was a historic moment when the School Magazine’s Golden Jubilee Edition was released and launched by Archbishop Dr. Leo Cornelio, on this auspicious occasion. The magazine in itself is a kaleidoscopic time capsule filled with the fragrance of the memories of yesteryears along with the ring of today and the promise of the future.
The grand finale was based on the theme of the 5 elements of nature which in itself was a unique display of finesse brought to vibrancy through dance which was beautifully rounded off with the panoramic dance to the School’s Golden Jubilee anthem.
The year long celebrations of the Golden Jubilee year 2017-18 was declared closed by the Local Manager and One of the pioneer Sisters, the most loved and cherished Sr. Ancilla, where the number fifty was symbolically veiled at the end, signifying the same.
The gala event was robustly applauded as the audience broke out of their state of mesmerisation and awe.
