SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON ARMY DAY
Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. Girls School, BHEL Bhopal celebrated the 74th Army Day with fervor and pride in the school premises. The day is celebrated on the January 15 to commemorate the day when Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over General Sir Francis Butcher as the commander- in- chief of India on January 1949. A special assembly was organized by the students of class ‘VI- D’ The theme of the assembly was ‘Army Day’. Each of them introduced themselves in terms of nation, culture and heritage. The assembly commenced with the Morning Prayer which is believed to provide peace and serenity to our minds and souls. It was followed by a mesmerizing street play on Army Day with rocking dance performances. Students of class 6 D paid tributes to the gallant Army through various programs such as Prayer dance, patriotic dance and street play. Students were dressed like soldiers. The assembly delivered a strong message that how students can serve the country in their own ways. They also explained patriotism does not mean only loving your country. Students should know that they can practice patriotism by being supportive to their fellow citizens. Students can also become a patriot if they do their responsibilities well. The assembly came to its finale with the students delivering a vote of thanks to their mentors. This assembly was undoubtedly a result of the immense efforts put together by students and teachers to bring out the best way to spread awareness of the importance of this day.
