Carmel Convent Sr Sec School; Primary Wing conducted a Newspaper Reading Competition for Classes 4 & 5 students on 29^th October 2022. The students were assessed for pronunciation, intonation, clarity, fluency and confidence. This competition was held with a view to enhance the fact that reading is an integral part of students’ learning experience. It is a very useful tool for improving and enhancing the students’ reading skills and knowledge of current affairs. The competition will also help them to find their hidden English potential and build their communication skills. Children earnestly participated in the competition. Around 75 students participated in the competition.  The budding news readers read the main headlines, entertainment news, city news, sports news, world news and weather report. All the participants were congratulated for their cheerful delivery of news and the winners were wished for their striking performance.
