On 17th August 2024, 27 school cabinet students from Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School, under the guidance of Rev. Sr. Ann Joicy, Principal and two teachers Mr. Savio Daniel and Mrs. Seema Gupta, participated in a School Cabinet Conclave hosted at Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) College. The event was organized by the Education Commission of Bhopal Archdiocese and saw the participation of students from 35 other leading schools across the city and the neighbouring districts. The event began with an inspiring opening ceremony and a welcome address by Rev. Fr. Dr. John P.J., Principal BSSS College, in which he welcomed everyone and emphasised on the role of educational institutions in nurturing future leaders. The Chief Guest of the conclave, Most Rev. Dr. AAS Durairaj SVD, delivered a keynote address on the importance of leadership in today’s world with the example of a humble villager Dashrath Manjhi, who later became famous as the ‘Mountain Man’ of India. There were four sessions conducted by the resource person along with engaging activities involving quizzes and competitions among the students. The presentation from the Rhythm Band was an added flavour which brought more life to the conclave. The conclave concluded with a fellowship lunch.
