To inculcate the habit of reading the newspapers among the students, primary wing of Carmel Convent Sr. Sec. School organised a News reading competition for classes 4 and 5 on 21st October 2024 in which students participated enthusiastically showcasing their excellent skills of reading. The competition was held with a view to enhance the fact that reading is an integral part of students’ learning experience. The students were assessed on the basis of confidence, pronunciation, intonation and fluency. The judges for class 4 were Ms. Sheeja Saji and Ms. Soumya Varghese. The judges for class 5 were Ms Shweta Gupta and Ms Mrinalini Choudhary. Around 85 students participated in the competition. The budding newsreaders read the main headlines, entertainment news, city news, sports news, world news and weather report. All the participants were congratulated for their striking performance.
